Talking Book Service provides audios books and magazines in cassette format, as well as a cassette player, to the visually impaired.  Materials are sent and received by mail - convenient and free of charge.  To get started, contact your local library.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Computer use - Computer use is free, however printing is 25¢ per page.  Time on the computers may be limited in order to allow access to all who what to use them.

     The library cannot verify, monitor or control the accuracy of any internet content, and takes no responsibility for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage related to internet use.  

     We affirm the right to provide all patrons access to constitutionally protected material.  Library staff do not monitor or restrict children's internet use.  Parents are responsible for their chidren's library use and are encouraged to either accompany or arrange supervision for their child when the child is using the computer.

     The following rules apply to all patrons:

     •  Computers will not be used for illegal activity, to access illegal materials, or to access materials which by local community standard would be obscene.  Any activity in violation of federal, state or local laws is prohibited.
     •  Misuse or abuse of district computer equipment, internet use, or failure to abide by district computer use policies will result in loss of computer privileges.  Such misuse includes but is not limited to: attempts at unauthorized access, hacking or otherwise interferring with systems operations, harrassment, violation of copyright or software licensing agreements.
    

Rotating collections - Each branch houses rotating collections of 
     •  Videos (DVD & VHS) - a different collection of 125 every two months; 
     •  Audio books (CDs & cassettes) - a different collection of 50 every two months; 
     •  Story time kits (complete with books, puppets & activity sheets) - 4 different kits every three months; and 
     •  Large type books - a different collection of 50 every six months.

Everybody Reads - This annual program features a different visiting author each year, with presentations at several area libraries.  2009's featured author, David Guterson, will be giving presentations in November.
