Welcome to our site

       is here!

Koha is an open source library system used all over the world.  VALNet libraries began using the Koha system April 23rd.  We are very excited about this move and are working to make it as smooth for both patrons and staff as possible.

Patrons using the online catalog will find a new look and improved features.  Click here to have a look!

 e-books and e-audios now available!

Love reading all your favorite books for free from the library?  Have an e-reader but don't want to buy each book you download?   You can now have your cake and eat it, too.

Read or listen on Kindles, iPads, iPods, Nooks, Sony Readers, MP3 players, and other devices using your home computers, or, depending on the device, download directly onto the device itself.  Patrons will need to do one-time downloads of free software onto their computer and/or device, then access the VALNet Digital Collection through the VALNet website

You may choose your own check-out period:  7, 14 or 21 days, and are limited to 3 checked out items at a time.  E-books may be returned early.  E-audios stay on your record until the loan period expires, so you may want to select a shorter loan period for those.  It's easy to place holds, and put items on a wish list for later.

The VALNet Digital Collection website contains general information about compatible devices and their supported formats, as well as links to OverDrive Media Console software for e-audios and Adobe Digital Editions software for e-books, the free software used to manage your library downloads.

New materials will be added to the collection weekly, so check back often for new titles.  In addition to the regular e-collection, thousands of public domain titles are available.  These do not expire, do not count against your 3-item limit, and are always available -- no waiting.

Ask your library staff for more information.
